Julia is a native Philadelphian who has now spent the majority of her adult life in Los Angeles; she’s thinking she might like it. She is an actor/singer/dancer/director and loves taking on new roles in the theater. She has been a member of Theatre Unleashed since its first season and favorite roles include Woman in Met Again, Whitney in Only the Moon Howls, Elmire in Tartuffe, Brutus in Julius Caesar, Nikki in The Woodsman, and Olivia in Twelfth Night. She directed both Cannibals Alone and two productions of A Feast of Snacks, one of which enjoyed a successful run at the Hollywood Fringe Festival. Other Fringe involvement includes her turn as Susan in [title of show] which was collaboratively put up by TU and Village Idiom Productions.
Aside from theater in Los Angeles, Julia is also involved in music, primarily as a vocalist, and was most recently seen as the soloist at Theatricum Botanicum’s Composer Collective debuting three art songs by Lolita Ritmanis. She is also very active in the Latvian music and theater scene, performing around North America as a soloist and as part of a Latvian vocal quartet, and also having starred in multiple productions at the National Theater of Latvia. Two songs from her album Ghost Light have been on rotation on Latvian radio for the past decade.
Julia is currently expanding her acting milieu and working towards roles in film and television. She has had a few TV appearances, and is also part of the team at Hold for Plane Pictures, with whom she has had the honor to perform in both The Holiday Hostess and Keep, the latter for which she won Best Actress as part of the 2018 72 Hour Horror Film Race. Julia is looking forward to her continued work with Theatre Unleashed and Hold for Plane and cannot wait to find what roles the future holds.
